We have 9 collection sites, where we get donations of toiletries and plastic bags.
In our workshop where we keep all of the donations, we fill the bags with all of the supplies. We also flatten, cut, tie, roll and crochet the plastic bags and turn them into mats for people to sleep on.
The arrival of donations enables us to make up bags. We are then ready to respond to a weather crisis or to individuals in need. We take the bags and mats to local shelters, to people we meet on the street, other local charities and the VA in Chicago. In only 4 years we have passed out over 1100 bags and 150 mats! These numbers continue to grow every week!
